Money Saving Secret

Before we get into the list of my favorite baby products, let me share an amazing money saving hack I’ve used myself.

I’m sure most people these days have an Amazon prime account. And even if you don’t, this hack can still work for you. Here’s how:

If you decide to create a baby registry on Amazon, they offer a 10-15% discount on most items on the registry, starting 60 days before baby’s due date (you put in the date when creating a registry). Click here to see more details. And the discounts add up when you buy a whole bunch of items for the new baby!

I actually added a lot of extra items to the registry to start with. Once we hit the 60 days before the due date, I looked at my list again and picked the items I felt we still were missing. We ended up saving about $400-500 this way!

Now, let’s take a look at my Top 10 Baby Items

A little disclaimer: baby essentials can be different for everyone; I’m just sharing my favorite products, that worked for us. Please let me know your baby must-haves in the comments section below.

1. Favorite Baby Stroller

When picking a baby stroller, it’s important to keep your lifestyle in mind. Do you travel a lot? Is storage important to you? What does the weather look like where you live?

For us, we live in South Florida, which means no snow…ever. We also like traveling with the baby, so the stroller had to be compact. Another thing, we like to keep baby things minimalistic, so we loved the idea of a stroller converting into a car seat. I don’t go shopping with the baby a lot, so storage wasn’t super important to me.

And we found a perfect stroller, that checked all those boxes for us:

Doona Car Seat to Stroller (click) – a very compact, light and convenient stroller, that converts into a car seat in less than 3 seconds. They also sell separate accessories for it, in case you need extra storage or sun protection.

And again, if you want to save a little bit on this bigger purchase, use that Amazon discount.

2. Baby Nest

Have you heard of baby nests? Sometimes, they also call them “baby lounger”.

We’ve used it a lot during the first 3-4 months. It’s so easy to take with you, when you travel or just want to hang out with the whole family in the living room. It was important for us, that the baby slept in her crib at night, but during the day time, this baby nest was a life savior.

Baby Lounger & Nest (click) – We picked a cheaper baby nest, as they all are very similar. I don’t see a point of spending much on this item. I just wanted to make sure, it’s machine washable and easy to assemble after each wash.

Here’s a few more options I like:

3. Best Waterproof Crib Sheets

I really like these crib sheets, since they’re waterproof on one side, but still very pleasant to touch on the other side. I’ve washed them so many times already, and the color stays just as vibrant as brand new. At the same time, stains come off really easily.

Here’s links to my favorite colors:

4. Baby Fleece Booties

Ah, babies loose their socks all the time. These fleece booties are simply amazing! They’re super cozy and don’t come off as easily as regular socks do.

We got a couple pairs in neutral colors to match every outfit. She still wears them sometimes.

Here’s my favorite picks:

5. White Onsies

Like I’ve mentioned before, we like to keep baby items at a minimum. Therefore, we chose to go with neutral colors when it came to onesies. This way, I didn’t have to spend too much time trying to match an outfit every time.

Here is a list of budget-friendly onesies, all in neutral colors:

6. Zip-Up Footies

Our baby pretty much lived in zip-ups her first few months. It is very convenient for the parents, and the baby always stays nice and warm.

Here’s some of my favorites:

Of course, there’s so many different options out there. I don’t have a particular brand I prefer. I just like to make sure, most of her footies come with a zipper, and the design is cute.

7. the Best Baby Bottles

I have tried quite a few different baby bottles, and these are my favorite, no doubt! Worth every penny. I like the material they’re made out of, very sturdy and easy to clean. And the design is super cute too.

These bottles come in two different colors, green and pink. The nipples are designed for an easy latch, and have a dual air vent. They also sell them in bigger sets.

I went ahead and bought the bigger bottles (8 oz), and separately purchased an extra set of nipples (0-6 months).

8. Silicone Baby Bib

I love silicone baby bibs, because they are so convenient! So I had to include them into my Favorite Baby Products list.

They’re easy to wash, while keeping the baby nice and clean during feedings. I know people use them for toddlers too.

These ones by Mushie are super cute, and they’re easy to adjust on baby’s neck.

More favorite products by this brand:

9. Musline Baby Blankets

Muslin swaddle blankets are my favorite. They’re super light, yet really cozy. We used them for swaddling our baby the first few months. And now we’re using them as a light blanket on hot Florida days.

There’s a lot of options out there, but these are my favorite ones:

They are super cute. Really good quality (I washed them so many times). And the size is perfect for swaddling.

10. Baby Bottle Drying Rack

If you’re using baby bottles, it’s so nice to have a separate drying rack for them.

There’s a few really good options for bottle drying racks on Amazon, but here’s my favorite one. I like it because of the neutral color and how much stuff I can fit on it. Now that my baby started solids, I dry all her dishes on this rack as well. And it is very affordable.

Here’s a few more great options:

Things to keep in mind

Every baby is very different, so it can take time to find what works for you. Some moms enjoy using bottle warmers, while other think it’s a waste of money. For some, bigger strollers with a lot of storage work best, while others prefer compact ones.

I hope, the list of my favorite baby products gives you some good ideas on what you might want to try with your baby, or what items you definitely don’t need to spend money on.

Of course, my list could be much longer, but I decided to keep it to just 10 items this time. Let me know if you’d like me to share baby food recipes on this blog as well.

If you have favorite baby products of your own, please don’t forget to share them in the comments below. Also, I’d love to connect with you over on Instagram!
